Endocrinology

The Department of Diabetology and Endocrinology provides collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team comprising of Endocrinologists, dieticians, nutritionists, diabetologists, certified diabetes educators, ophthalmologists, which is capable of managing cases related to endocrinological disorders.  The diseases of the thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, and other such glands are dealt with quite efficiently. In addition, special care is offered to the patients suffering from thyroid disease and thyroid cancers. Department of Endocrinology also focuses on imparting training, and teaching the best practices of care for the patients approaching all the sub-specialties of Endocrinology. The multidisciplinary team evaluates the patients with disorders of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands including acromegaly, prolactinomas, Cushing’s disease, pituitary tumours, hypopituitarism and several other disorders of the endocrine system.

Diabetology

Sedentary lifestyle, obesity, and other health issues have given rise to the increased incidences of type 2 diabetes (diabetes mellitus) throughout the world. Therefore, the treatment and prevention of diabetes is the need of the hour. The Department of Diabetology and Endocrinology works towards the implementation of innovative treatment methodologies and preventive measures to ensure a complete control over diabetes. In addition, the department also addresses a wide range of metabolic and endocrine disorders including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, disorders of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands.

The Department offers comprehensive multidisciplinary diabetes care, unique family-centered services, and education programs. The goal is to help patients integrate optimal diabetes management into their everyday lives. As people with diabetes may have to see a range of health specialists, our “Total Diabetes Care” includes endocrinologists specializing in adult and childhood diabetes, as well as nurse educators, nutritionists, and exercise physiologists.
