ORIF AND K WIRING
- A 37 yrs old male with RTA
- Sustained soft tissue injury to the left orbital region and left shoulder comminuted fracture.
- Associated fracture of the c1 to c7
- The fractures of left proximal humerus are reduced after opening the fracture site and verified under c-arm.
- The fractures fragments are so small that 4mm screws will reduce the bone quantity, during drilling and pose a greater risk for collapse and
avascular necrosis of the head, so instead choose to maintain the soft tissue sleeve on bones(better biology) and hold them in reduced position untill they united/healed. - Even removal of k-wires was done as OPD procedure.
