What is Multiple Sclerosis?
A disease that can cause the disabling of the brain and spinal cord, multiple sclerosis, causes the nerves to deteriorate or become permanently damaged. The multiple sclerosis symptoms depend on the amount of damage of the nerves and also on which nerves have been most affected. At times, people with MS disease may lose the ability to walk independently or completely.

Multiple Sclerosis Causes
The multiple sclerosis causes are still unknown. It is an autoimmune disease, where the body’s tissues are attacked by its own immune system. There is destruction of myelin, a fatty substance that coats and protects nerve fibres, and therefore, the traveling of messages through the nerves is either slowed down or it gets blocked. Why MS develops in some people and not in the others, is still being studied, however, it is estimated that a combination of genetics and environmental factors may be responsible too.
