    After the Surgery

    You are likely to stay in the hospital for about four to six days. Special care is taken by placing a wedge-shaped cushion between your legs in order to keep the new hip joint in place and to lessen the thigh pain after the hip replacement surgery.

    Physical therapy is started the next day after the surgery and in the rest of the days, you are asked to walk using the walker or a crane in the hospital. You should continue the physical therapy for weeks to months as suggested by your surgeon. After the surgery, there are some chances of blood clots which can be avoided by early mobilization and blood thinning medication.
