Description

Dyspepsia is a general term for pain or discomfort felt in the stomach and under the ribs.

Symptoms

  • Feeling uncomfortably full or bloated
  • Nausea
  • discomfort in the upper abdomen
  • burning in the upper abdomen
  • belching

Causes

  • Overeating or eating too quickly
  • Fatty, greasy or spicy foods
  • Too much consumption of caffeine ,alcohol, chocolate or carbonated beverages
  • Smoking
  • Anxiety
  • Certain antibiotics ,pain relievers and iron supplements
  • Indigestion is caused by other digestive conditions :
  • Gastritis
  • Peptic ulcers
  • Celiac diseases
  • Gallstones
  • Constipation
  • Pancreatitis
  • Stomach cancer
  • Intestinal blockage
  • Intestinal ischemia
